6 Degrees of Criminal Justice
Introduction to Social Network Analysis for Practitioners and Analysts
Professor Andrew Papachristos and Professor Tracey Meares
Two-day workshop on the uses of social network analysis (SNA) in the criminal justice field (for analysts and practitioners). The workshop will provide a brief overview of SNA theory and methods, as well as how SNA can be used for various intervention, enforcement, and prevention efforts. In addition to a classroom style seminar, a part of each day's agenda will include hands-on training with SNA software and data.
Participants will walk away with (1) a basic understanding of SNA; (2) some ideas on how to apply; and (3) a desire to learn more.
Lunch will be provided. Space is limited. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Patty Milardo at firstname.lastname@example.org. The workshop is FREE of charge, but participants must cover their own travel and lodging expenses. There are also an extremely small number of 'scholarships' to offset the costs for students. (Workshop supported with funds provided by the Oscar M. Ruebhausen Fund.)
